Just moved to Lake Dallas and have boat moored at Lakeview Marina. Of course, I'm looking for a few good spots to catch some channels and blues. Not trying to get 50 pounders but good eating size but wouldn't throw one of those back either. Have fished the rip rap just outside marina early morning with limited luck but prefer mid morning to mid afternoon. Usually use shrimp, frozen shad or Danny King for baits as I cannot throw a casting net for the life of me, for live shad. Also usually chum with soured grain. Any locations that usually produce will be greatly appreciated.

FYI There is a slot limit on Lewisville of 30-45 inches. 10-45 lb blues fall in this range and must be released.

Learn to drift to locate the fish. I would head north the Oak Point area (my old stomping grounds). Keep the 3-7 lber's, but return the rest back for someone else to enjoy.
He is truly a sick individual.

Usually willing to help as well as this is my home lake but I must I agree with El Gato as most of us cat guys take a great pride in throwing the big ones back. Its sad but for every 1 that we throw back, somebody else are taking out 2.
If i dont suceed i will die trying

Hey guys, just my two cents but instead of jumping on the guy, welcome him then maybe try and educate him on CPR.

Usually I agree with You Tom. Ive gotten jumped on 10 fold for some of my posts but Im a big boy and can take it. Those of yall that know me know Im friendly and helpful. I grew up on this lake and have fished it for 40yrs and I admit that I can be defensive about Lewisville especially when 50lbrs are involved!! No offense Bill

If it's legal ain't no way in hell it's catch and release, it's CATCH & GREASE, except ROUGH (TRASH) Fish

Just a joke on 50 lbers. That's why I don't yellow cat fish. I think whst I prefer was eating size, NOT the 50 lbers. The meat on those bigger ones isn't good anyway.
