I T-rig then put on a craw making a good cast into some structure and bam, it runs a few feet then the line breaks, bummer. Tie on again roll to another spot make a couple casts and bam, same thing pulls hard then another break off, dang felt like a good one. Wayne then questions my knot tying ability, dude, really? I just spooled new line so confident its not that and tie another and go to the dam. I make my cast, the line goes sideways and I set the hook with immediate break off, ok something ain't right so Wayne says let me see the end of the line. Clean break, hmmm, put on another steel weight hold the tag end of line and weight then pull it sideways and sure enough it cut like I was using scissors. Needless to say I switched to a lead weight and what do you know I landed some fish. If you use steel weights I suggest dressing the top hole removing the sharp edge. Anyone else ever experience this?

Yep, that'll happen sometimes with steel weights. Take out a loan like everyone else an upgrade to tungsten.

Use a Knot Shield. it goes over the knot at the hook, then use whatever Texas weight you want. It protects your Knot from abrasion, from both weights and rocks, etc. works on Jigs, shakey head, anything.

Why do you use steel weights? I have looked at them before but do not like how big they are for their weight.

I use 1oz steel weights on a crig all the time the larger weight keeps it from snagging in the rocks as bad. Just personal preference I guess
