Hi,

My buddy and I were kayak fishing and planning on launching from Briton Park. I did some research on that area and felt pretty prepared but it was closed for Nov and Dec. We ended up launching from Lloyd park (kayaks). Other than the creek close to launch on Joe Pool, didn’t seem like great fishing there. Were we missing something? Or is Briton Park that much better (especially since a kayak can’t go too far from there),

Is there somewhere near Briton Park where a kayak can be launched other than the park?

I fished up Walnut Creek but didn't get anything. Talked to another fisherman and he didn't either. Not sure if there were fish and I just missed them, or they weren't there. Once you're in the creek channel it's fine, but hit a stump getting back there in 2 feet of water.

I caught 5 overs and numerous spots yesterday. One good under.

They were in the very backs of main lake coves. Very shallow. On the ends or sides of laydowns.

Actually it was one of my better days in the lake.

I went all the way up both creeks on the west arm and only caught one slot. Wasted 3 hours that way. Nothing doing on the deep ledges or by the dam either.

Thanks for the update, Steez. What did you catch them on if you don't mind me asking?

I did catch 3 when I went out, but got them all by the damn in about 16 feet of water. I'll try the coves on the east side this weekend. Once the water cools down, I think you can find them shallow by the bridges too or drop shot the bridge pillars. Hopefully I get out Friday but I might go to EM instead.

Thanks Greg. I will be going back out this weekend. I think we may try and paddle over to Walnut Creek this time. Any idea what kind of cover is over that way? I have read there is a lot of hydrilla at Joe Pool but did not see it last time we were there.

There is a road in loud park that will get you closer to the creek for kayak launching. If you use Google maps you should see it

There is no grass on pool, definitely not hydrilla. I haven't had much luck lately. About 2-3 fish a day whether I try deep or shallow.

Thanks for the update Bobby.

Brad - did you mean Lloyd park? I have not been able to find a Loud park. I looked at the park and did see there is a boat ramp further south in the park that I would use this time.
