I haven't yet but I'm going to...

So my wife was cleaning out the medicine cabinet and we had this large bottle of fish oil tablets... So I bit into one to see if it was a solid core or liquid... well it was liquid and I don't advise the experiment.. It was basically full of sardine oil... tasted horrible and smelt horrible. So I got to thinking how good of a scent trail this would be on my hook. maybe hook it on before my shad etc. Kind of a super shad.

I'm dying to try it but I'm sure someone already has...

If you have let me know how it worked out.

Sounds interesting.

Would you mind coming over to my house and taste-testing some weird things in the back of my fridge? They've been there for a little while ...

Way easier to just use scented spray, something like the scents for adding on to lures. Easier, costs less, cleaner, sticks to stuff longer.

You can buy liter size bottles of fish oil at any asian market, and most decent grocery stores. Usually $3 or less.

Just buy some menhaden or bunker oil from a trapping supply company and dip all your bait in it before casting. That'll be way cheaper.

Makes sense. I don’t know if kitties like sardines though. Maybe hook through end to end. Where the barb penetrates the plastic should allow the oil to seep out slowly maybe. Report back after you experiment some.
