I'm going to take a guess that it won't be good. Not many turned out for one of, if not the most popular lake in Texas. I don't see Travis getting more than that but you never know

It's a shame as it's a great Expo. They shut the fishing down for Saturday and all the anglers are there at the Expo. Talked to a few of them, attended a few seminars where I learned something, got a replacement pair of Costas for nothing. It was great. I was hoping they were coming back to Rayburn.

I think you're confusing that with BassFest. Not the same tounament.

Correct. They combined bassfest and Texas Toyota bass classic and are naming it Texas fest.

2 years ago Texoma was lightly attended, Rayburn last year was worse, I predict attendance at this one will be horrible.

Why do you think that is?

The events that I have helped at and attended in Texas never draw a lot of people (I cant figure it out because there are so many bass fishermen here) thats why I think they are few and far between events here in the metroplex.

The answers I got is Texoma is just not a hotspot for bass fisherman compared to east or southeast texas. The deal with Rayburn last year it was catch weigh release so almost no fish were brought to weigh-in, that was supposed of what killed it but I've heard the BASS elite event on rayburn they had way back was poor attendance too, the locals there probably just don't care for the attention to their lake BASS brings. Austin is going to be a combination of the two, not really a bass fishing hotspot and they're keeping the catch weigh release format.

I'll tell you why I typically don't attend these events... I only have "X" number of days that I can fish, I'd rather be on the lake fishing versus killing one of my fishing days to watch others weigh in or get on the water and watch them fish. If it were close by my job then I would attend Thursday or Friday, but come Saturday and Sunday my rear end is on the boat fishing rain, sleet, snow, wind, hot, or cold.

I have not attended the other tournaments due to distance (I did go to a classic in New Orleans once), I will go to this one for sure though.

The answer is simple when they have BASS events in other states people simply show up and attend, for the most part, instead of sitting on a forum talking about why they're not going to attend...

Texans tend to be doers. Would rather be fishing/hunting/playing golf than fighting insane traffic to watch a weigh in or go to an expo surrounded by marketers and sales pitches
