So I know the North end of Palestine is a big cluster "F" And I know the best way to fish Kickapoo is to just put in on 315. But my problem is that I know most tournaments go out of either the villages or the marina. So my question is can someone give me a general description on how to get from the Villages to Kickapoo. I know you are supposed to go to the power line. but where do you go from there.

Thanks for the Help

Reaching the power line can be tricky from the Villages if you have never done it.You can destroy your boat and motor if you don't know the lake.Go north from the Villages along the east bank until you reach the powerline.Go west along the power line until you reach the Hwy.315 bridges.Once you reach the bridges, you have arrived at Kickapoo Creek. You can run parallel to the power line if you hug the power poles. You will have to idle around the island on the powerline.Go on the north side of the island.DON'T run on plane anywhere your not sure of or you might damage your boat or loss your lower unit.

I can't get you to the power line, but once you get there, run directly below it. Idle around the island, then catch the other side to run up to the shore, you can run a circle from there to the submerged bridge at the ramp up there. I don't run anywhere else, but will idle faster along the bridge as long as I am sure the depth is good enough and I am not getting too close to the submerged bridges.

Running the power line is the easy part, just run to the island, idle up the old pipeline then around north side of it till you get back on the power line then run it all the way to the old road bed. Getting to the power line from the villages is where you run into trouble. And there is no way to tell someone how to run it safely, believe me I've tried.

Follow the east bank . There is one spot that has standing timber on that side I slow down for. And a point that sticks way the hell out there. Outside of that , you dont see it it aint there.

That will cost you a lower unit or big hole with the lake a foot low or more. There are stumps almost all the way up there, not just one spot.

I have made it from the villages to the power line a few times. just wasn't sure how to get across the lake from there. and how to get around the island. so go around the island on the north side???

It takes several trips for someone to learn how to run up there and not tear anything up. I would not attempt running if you have never been up there. Depending on the lake level there is a small hump up against one of the power poles these guys are telling you to hung up to. It gets nasty up there. It can be done though if you choose to do it. Sit out on the East bank and wait for some cat running up there then sit back and watch and follow. There are several boys I have seen run from the Villages all the way to the bridge and never let up. NOT ME

Why don't you want to launch at 315 ? Don't even have to crank the big motor if you launch there.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

another perfectly good "AGGIE" question .......
read his very opening post and you'll have the answer.
Iknow, Iknow, at A&M they only teach 2-R's. Reading ain't part of the curriculum.

Read it fluke, didn't say he was fishing a tournament. If he was he would know where they were launching from and he didn't. You obviously don't know $hit about Texas A&M University and until you do you can keep your chicken $hit remarks to yourself. What Podunk school did you go to ? GIG'EM
