Has mother nature pulled the trigger? Long variable speed, but steady cold rain, back to back fronts, though not cold, but extended cool spells? The crappie move to the creeks may now begin in earnest. Caught 3 deep night crappie last night, in murky water, in a place where crappie and bass will only bite in semi to clear water. Lots of surface activity, had to be shad, with an occasional bass busting the surface, and a crappie on occasion sucking in a shad or minnow. It may indeed be time!

I tried our creeks last Saturday hoping for the same thing. There were lots of 5 inch shad and some largemouth moving in but I only caught 3 crappie. We had another cold front this week so I'm hoping it will explode soon. We are well behind the last 2 years.

Bachman Creek above Lemmon, White Rock Creek north of NW hwy and below Greenville Avenue, Hickory Creek and Pecan above Lake Lewisville, Rowlett Creek from mouth to at least 66 bridge for starters. Joe's creek between 35 and elm fork, though access is limited. Many others off Lavon and Ray Roberts. Most any creek that feeds into a reservoir will see some sort of winter run, and the results can be interesting.

Good luck

Rudy

With Lewisville being 1 1/2 ft low. There is little Pecan creek. Shad and birds working the mouth but that is about it. Need rain. Nice hog there R.

Went to Bachman creek 11/12 at about 9pm-10pm, caught a couple small LMB and missed a few bites, that was about it.

Penthouse starting to warm up. No big numbers, but 2-3 keepers each of the last 3 trips, some yellow bass, a few dink crappie, and both large and dink black bass.

A few changes in the scenery around the gazebo and the "lighted walkway"
