I'm sure it varies from year to year depending on water temperature, but in general and on a typical year, how late into November do you still stand a good chance of getting into large numbers of bull reds inshore and off the jetties in the Corpus/Port A and POC area?
I usually target them late September through October and have already used my oversize tags, but a friend of mine will be visiting from out of state around Thanksgiving and really wants to catch one. I'm assuming that the bull reds are mostly further offshore by mid/late November in a typical year, but I'm just guessing since I've never gone after them that late in the year.

I have always had success at the POC jetties through Thanksgiving, and know guys who catch them the first part of December, I have always got busy duck hunting in the past, and haven't been out there past Thanksgiving.
Now, in saying that, the Thanksgiving time frame we have also caught more big black drum as well. Sept/Oct it was always 4-5 bulls to every black drum, then in Nov. it was almost the complete opposite, but the bulls have always been much bigger than early. Sept/Oct lots of 38-44" with the occasional 47-48". November we see 47-50 on almost every one. at least from what my boat has experienced.

Thanks, my experiences are similar to yours, in that usually I'm deer or duck hunting come November. The few times I've fished the jetties in early November, I did notice that I tend to get more oversize black drum than bull reds, especially with crabs or sealice as bait. I'll see what happens around Thanksgiving if my friend insists on fishing the jetties when he comes to visit.
