Been reading about the micro power pole and was wondering if anyone has used this and what is your opinion?

I've been in boats that have used them. Pretty cool. The new Titan 13.5 and others have pre-formed mounting solutions built in. For the Titan, not one but two! I think the theory here is that one pole down in the mud won't keep a kayak from twisting owing to any current or wind, so two would take care of that by pinning the vessel.

The need for one depends a whole lot on where one fishes, the depth as these have limits.

I don't see enough advantage for the way I fish over just using an anchor trolley along with a stake-out pole. I'm also not sure if a stake out pole is deployed off the stern whether the bow swinging a bit is a big deal. Again, I suppose it depends on how one is fishing.

Curious . . . what kayak would you be mounting a power to? And, let us know if you get one, a follow-up review.

Brad

If I fished in shallow water more they might be worth the $$$. Not sure what the weight penalty is for the unit and battery.

The depth that it can be deployed is why I've held off buying one. If I fish more shallow stuff then I would probably invest. As of right now, I haven't even needed a stakeout pole.

Ok i plan on maybe mounting it on a pescador pro 100 i do fish shallow water at a community lake. I probably spend 90% of my fishing time here cause i am at this lake 3 days a week. Its hard to leave with good quality bass. I would have to modify a bracket to mount the mini power pole. I normally fish in depths of 7 to 8 ft. The deepest part of the lake is 19 ft. I can get this unit at a discount it was a display unit but the power cord is missing and the remote fob. New cord is $40 so I am debating but thank you all for the info it helps

Cool, post pics of your install!

I think for where you are fishing you will enjoy it. If I fished more rivers I would probably have one.

Time will tell whether I get one or not. Before I got my Coosa HD, I was really interested in the WS ATAK 120 because I could mount 2 of them off the back and have control to prevent the kayak pivoting.
