What do you do if you every loose your key to the ignition on a boat? Do you need your engine serial number? Do you just simply order a new one from a parts catalog or would you have to call the company who makes the engines?

Readily available on ebay or from any boat dealer. I keep one zip tied under the dash on my boat.

I never take mine out, but have an extra taped to locator frame...just in case.

If you take a magnifying glass and look on the key switch where the key enters the switch the key # is stamped there if it's not worn off....Opti

only time I ever take mine out is if I pull up to a dockside restaurant or a bar, and when duck hunting. both would be a terrible time to hear my boat fire up and drive away
