What do you do if you every loose your key to the ignition on a boat? Do you need your engine serial number? Do you just simply order a new one from a parts catalog or would you have to call the company who makes the engines?

Readily available on ebay or from any boat dealer. I keep one zip tied under the dash on my boat.

If you take a magnifying glass and look on the key switch where the key enters the switch the key # is stamped there if it's not worn off....Opti

only time I ever take mine out is if I pull up to a dockside restaurant or a bar, and when duck hunting. both would be a terrible time to hear my boat fire up and drive away

I have an older Nitro and found an extra key zip tied to the wiring harness evidently put there at the at the factory behind my switch plate... nice to know it's there.
