Looks good. It will be hard as a rock when you are done. I've been happy with mine. Yours is definitely going faster than mine did.

Stage II Took just under 9 gallons - not much left in 9th gallon tho so call it 9 gallons. I ordered 10 gallons but used 1 gallon in the Tamale pot. I was gonna see about getting the caps I cutoff - welded back on - but I stuck some bolts down in it and thinking the bolts and a bunch of 3m 5200 may do it.

Nope just reg zinc coated steel. Wanted aluminum. They will get 5200 coated so should be 5200 between aluminum and bolt then cut off flush with nut and coated with 5200. Not the prettiest but I'm NOT entering her into any boat shows..... As long as the Trophy Blue Cats don't care- wont matter to me......

Worst case if they ever do rust out somehow, you could put in some galvanized tap in anchors. She looks good though.

Almost finished. Once you put 5200 there and it cures, the bolts probably won't matter. You'll be happy with it and saved a ton of money doing it yourself and you should never have to touch the transom again. Good job

10 gallons Arjay - $399.98 free shipping no tax ($199.99 for 5 gallon kit x's 2) plus 3 cans of Loctite Spray Foam, Big Tube of 5200, Drill bit extender, blade for my die grinder, cheap harbor freight pneumatic body saw and blades, mixing paddle for drill, and 8' of 1" aluminum sq tubing- I'm at just under $500 for this transom job. oh wait -I did order 3 aluminum drain tubes and the flaring tool for $43 so about $540 total. I already owned the sawsall, die grinder, electric chainsaw and had a roll of foil tape in my garage. The body saw did Good on the aluminum but couldn't handle the wood behind it so I used the sawsall and my die grinder with a 4" metal saw blade to cut the transom caps off. I wasn't sure if 9 gallons would be enough so I went online to ProMarine Supply to see what 2 more gallons would cost and clicked the link for Arjay 6011 and it said item not found. So I emailed them - they replied it has been discontinued. This was 2 days after receiving my 10 gallon order. W.T.F.? My can said ProMarine Ceramic Transom Putty on the labels but on their website said Arjay 6011 - so they Probally had a deal with Arjay to sell it under their label that ended.? Or they copied Arjay 6011 n Arjay shut them down .?

I contacted Arjay about mine and they gave me their closest distributor which was in Houston. It came in 5 gallon buckets that were marked Arjay. There are a few companies that make similar products. My first transom I used a product that you mixed equal parts and it expanded like foam and then hardened. It worked just as good except the expansion bulged the transom a little more than I wanted. I can't remember what I had to pay for it, but the shipping was outrageous so you did good for no shipping and no tax.
