I'm hanging up the Sunfish fly rods for the season and focusing on Stripers and Hybrids. I have good flies for when I find them schooling but I also will be gear fishing to cover more water. So, Slabs, Spoons, Swimbaits? Lets assume a budget of $100. What you guys think?

Check with Brian at www.lilypadjigs.com he guides on Tawakoni and makes great baits. He will let you know exactly what is working on the lake at that time. Phillip at RSR is also a great choice.

Rsr lures gets my stamp of approval. 90% of what I use aside from live bait stuff comes from RSR. It's just about dead sticking season. They have some really good tandem jig heads. Use the 1/4 oz one with a fluke above a larger one with a Fluke or scrap the fluke on bottom and use a slab.

RSR for the larger baits, slabs and jig heads with dual eyelets. However, the shank length on half ounce jig head extends too far into the fluke when down sizing to 4" fluke. Empty pockets also makes a half ounce double eyed jig head with a much shorter shank that works great.
