Just bought my first Cat 2018 Caracal my question is a 45 inch Ultrex or just say the heck with it and get the 52. I�m thinking 52 better to have it than not. Only reason I question it is I don�t know how the boat sits when on the TM.

52" on my 2015 Cougar and it's nearly all the way down. I wouldn't want it any shorter.

I have a 2004 Basscat Cougar and I have the 45 on mine. I felt the 52 would cover up too much deck space. I haven't had a problem with it being too short.

Get the longest imho I have a Champion 206with a fortrex 122/45 in shaft wish all the time I would have got the 52

I have the 45 on my 21 foot triton, would not have it any other way, I don,t fish much open water but when i have it was not a problem, if your boat sits nose high you may want the 52.

The 52" is on order. From my experience the Caracal is a flatter sitting Bass Cat compared to a puma or cougar. I look forward to seeing Lance's boat once we are finished rigging it. I have fell in love with the Caracal's layout and performance!
