I've seen where LFG has been using the new favorite rod brand. Was wondering if anyone has tried them out and what they thought about them?

I truly believe Kevin Smith builds the best rod there is for you money. He is so knowledgeable of all the blanks that are available. All you have to do is figure out what you want your rod to do and he will make it happen.

I would not buy another mass produced rod until I talk to Mr. Smith.

He is asking about a rod brand not asking for a recommendation or a free plug...........

Not sure about the rest of the group, but I cant buy a rod on line without being able to put my hand on it. I need to know what it feels like. Unfortunately, there are no dealers here in Texas...that I know of.

I think Cabelas is carrying a display of that brand of rod. I seen them in Ft Worth. Not 100% sure but pretty sure. If not there is a display of rods I had never heard of anyway.

Roland Martin can't stop talking about them on his shows along with Frogg Toggs, Yamamoto Custom Baits, Spike it products, Duracell batteries, and Johnny Morris reels. They are his new "Favorite Rod"! he used to use $100 rods that were just fine but let me tell you folks these Favorite Rods are lighter and more sensitive than ever! SON!

Anything that puts a nickel in Roland's pocket has been "the greatest thing" since the 1970s. I don't have any knowledge or opinion either way on the rod, but Roland is just a paid "ultimate pimp" for any of it.

Anyone remember the helicopter lure? It's the best lure ever! SON!!

Arent they all pimps pushing their sponsors product or their own? Pretty much their job. Some just go overboard like Roland and Shaw.

Duckett, Power Tackle and Loomis. Duckett has a new high-end rod coming that I'm eager to check out.

Dont know if any of you'll remember John Fox. He was and still is, the worst. Now is only on late night "odd ball" channels hawking some off brand fishing equipment.

Tackle addict at rayburn had some. I didn't pick one up. They looked expensive and all kinds of graphics and never heard of the brand. I will stick to falcon

I held the Big Sexy model at the classic this year. To me, it seemed heavy and had a bulky/thick blank. Almost like a glass rod, but it was graphite. For the price tag on that model, I think there are more comfortable and better balanced rods. But to each their own, try one out.
