Does anybody make a short rod (6’ 6” - 6’ 10”) that still has a longer handle? And by longer I mean one that you would find on a traditional 7’ rod or longer. I just do not like the feeling of a short handle on short rods.

I use a Dobyn's Sierra Series 682c for throwing poppers and smaller top waters. Its 6'8" and the handle is the same size as other rods. I really love the action of it

I use a Kistler Helium 6'8" Light Medium Heavy and an Alpha Angler Rod Slasher (6'10" Medium), I havent noticed either having an uncomfortably short handle. I do know that my Helium has a longer handle then my son's magnesium in the same size and power.

I have a Falcon Cara and Low Rider that are 6'6" with the full cork handle. I don't know if they still make them in the 6'6" model with full cork handle.

I’ll check those out. Thanks fellas. I do love Dobyns rods! Heard good things about the rest.

I agree, they are awesome rods. I wish I would have started using them a long time ago

I took this pic last night for comparison purposes. Rods from left to right are - 7'11", 7'1", 6'10" (Alpha Top water rod), 6'8" (Kistler Helium Light Medium Heavy). I guess the Helium was shorter than I thought but I know you can customize a lot of options through Kistler so maybe handle length is one of them. The Alpha Angler Rod (Slasher) is my newest rod and I love it so far, it is a medium action but is stiffer then I expected a medium to be.
