Hello my name is Mason Myrick and I am a die hard bass fisherman. Recently me and my dad took a trip to lake Oak Creek in Blackwell, TX. The plan was to catch some catfish for one last fish fry. When checking one of our set lines we noticed something floating next to a tree, when we got up close I realized it was the biggest bass I've ever seen! I was very sad that we found it dead. The fish hadn't been dead long probably around 2-3 days so we were able to weigh and measure the fish. At 11lbs and 27 inches long it's safe to say a few weeks ago this fish could've easily been the dream of all Texas fisherman, a sharelunker bass! I'm posting this story because it really brings into reality that anything is possible when you are fishing in our great state and the fish of a lifetime can be in anybody of water.
Thanks for reading!

I wouldn't feel right having it mounted....a great fish none the less, but my personal opinion would be to mount a fish that I had caught live and released.

You have the memory of the fight, what lure you used, rod/reel setup, the conditions, everything is fresh and makes for a great story when telling friends...not, "yup, I found that one floating near a tree..."

Either way, great story and awesome find! Welcome to TFF

Dont worry I'm not mounting it mainly because I'm a college student that can't afford to! But I agree with you it wouldn't be the same.
