Sorry for the late report. I really haven't been posting my fishing reports and keeping everything up to date. But I took the time to go ahead and post one.
My partner and I had a decent day on the water. We ran across what I call a honey hole and loaded up on the bites. In four hours we were able to land fifty eight bass while fishing a T/R small plastic. We were in water ranging from ten to fourteen feet and they were on a chew. Had several that hit it on the fall, we also had several double hook ups. The bite was between 2 pm to 6 pm. Nothing very big, only a few in the three pound range, but the two pound fish fought great as well. For some reason I have always been a number catching guy and not so much on chasing huge bass. Well I guess I do know the answer to that one, I like catching fish more than I do fishing for them. When you go out looking for the big bite, you will spend a lot of time fishing. But there is a reward for it when it does happen, that bass will drag you all over the place and you will use every bit of your boat deck from the front to the back before you land it. Such an adrenalin rush. But I still like to catch numbers when I'm out fun fishing with friends.
The water is cooling down, think it was 82 degrees. The shallow water bite is still slow, but you can pick one up here and there throwing a trap. I never did try the timber area so I have no clue what is going on in there, I might try it next trip just to see. I can't wait for December when the top water action goes ballistic. It doesn't get any better than catching fifty to sixty bass all on top water and decent quality fish at that. But those days are just around the corner and it's gonna be a blast.
Hope this report helps a few anglers decide where their next trip will be. Have a blessed day everyone.

Good report. Holiday fishing traffic is coming to that lake.

Thinking about making the trek to Fayette in a couple weeks. Ive only been once and that was last year. Any tips on running the lake or where to try or with what Id appreciate. Its been too long to remember where to go or where to avoid for me. Im thinking of taking a buddy from work and dont want to disappoint him as Ive talked it up based on what Ive heard not what Ive experienced.

I have the luxury of being able to go during the week now. That should have a huge impact on how many boats are using the water - at least while I'm on the lake!

There are fish pretty much everywhere at Fayette...especially when the bite is on...so it depends on what you like to do. The trees will hold fish at times...working T-Rig Baby Brush Hogs, Senkos, power worms, and even jigs will work if they're in the trees. There are usually fish along the rip-rap that will take crankbaits...XD-5s/6s in sexy shad are hard to beat on Fayette. There are rockpiles in both the discharge and intake areas that hold fish at times and crankbaits or T-Rigs will work there. Most of the points on the lake work and a C-Rig with a Senko or BBH work well until you find them. There are also some humps in the middle of the lake that hold fish and, again, both crankbaits and C-Rig will work if you can find the direction they want it coming across the hump. Top waters in the coves near any grass work in the mornings at times...Pop-R types...and Swim Jigs near any reed lines or grass lines will also work...also better in the mornings. I try to keep it pretty simple as Fayette Bass are numerous and hungry most of the time.

Fayette is an easy lake to fish, that's why I fun fish it all the time. I like catching numbers and keeping my rod tip bent.

Headed out today to see what I can find. Really I'm looking for a good top water bite with the cloud cover like it is. I watched several top water videos yesterday and the blow ups got me going. I hope to have those same results today but those blow ups will be up close on my top water bait. LOL Report coming soon. Tight lines and God bless everyone.
