Finally got a mount for the 360 so have it mounted now. I've been working on the wiring. Got new wires ran and a 1 amp fuse but it kept blowing the fuse. Stuck a 3 amp in just to see if the thing will even work and it powered up. Finally got it linked to the Helix 10 and 12 but my question is about the 360 screen. When I go to that screen it gives a window that states that it isn't pinging and do I want to turn it on? I hit yes and I hear the 360 start to work but the screen remains black. Shouldn't the ff window automatically show the ring and the boat symbol even if the unit is out of water? I'm not getting it on either unit. I haven't gotten it in the water to test anything yet. I'm assuming the circle is in the ff side built into the screen view. I'm trying to get everything sorted out before I get to the lake to try it out. I'm trying to not be working on it there.
I'm not sure about the 10 but I just did the most recent update to the 12 a couple of weeks ago.

If you are blowing the 1A fuse, your power is not adequate or you have a faulty 360.
Yes the 360 circle and range rings will display when the unit recognizes the 360.
Units made since the 360 was first released have the 360 software. All Ethernet capable Helix units definitely have it.
You have to choose a 360 View to see 360. THEN you turn on the 360 with the 360 menu. It takes a while for the unit to recognize the 360 and give you a 360 view. The question has nothing to do with actually running 360.

Thx, I'll check the wiring tomorrow. I used the wiring that was running the Helix 10 and ran new wires to the Helix. It did take awhile for the unit to recognize the 360 and I did choose a 360 screen to view. By starting the 360, do you mean that I tell it to start pinging from the 360 screen? I did do that but only have a black screen. I'll look at it tomorrow and try to figure it out.

Verify that the wiring is the correct size based on the length of the run(both ways) and the current draw of the 360, and that the wire is fused correctly. I've found that installation instructions tend to be generic and may not be suitable for your specific installation.

Thx for the help. I got the fuse problem solved and finally got to go to the lake a test it today. Works great.
