I have never been striper fishing but considering taking my son to Amistad. Does anyone have a report?

My brother who is a Border Patrol Agent down there has been doing pretty good. He is new to striper fishing and he is figuring them out.

I just love Amistad. I wish I could hit it more often but it is a hefty drive from DFW.
Those stripers are in there but they are definitely more elusive compared to lakes like Texoma. I won't pretend to be an expert but we usually catch a few trolling up river from Rough Canyon in the Devils river. Good luck and let us know how you do if you end up making the trip.

I've had pretty good luck in the winter around Goodenough Springs. When I find a school of Whites I usually find the Stripers lurking a little deeper below them.
