Not sure I have ever really used them very successfully. I am think of buying a couple of 56" for a 22 foot bay boat to slow drift in 16MPH southerly wind on Grapevine as I work the dam to Murrell Park on Saturday.
Anybody have any advice on which ones, use tips, etc.?

I've only used them briefly. They should have a chart on the packaging to tell you what size for your boat. Get the largest size for your boat and a float wouldn't be a bad idea to attach to it. Lots of youtube videos on them and how to best use them just to float or with your trolling motor also. I just bought one at bass pro and it worked great to assist my trolling motor.

Thanks Bobby. I'll try it. My 22 ZXBay floats high and has a good amount of freeboard so I think I will need something.

I ran a bigger one in back and a smaller one in front to control the amount of drag I was getting. If it equals out, you can get a perfect float with the boat angle w/o too much trolling motor use. Used them on Ray Roberts and Lewisville mostly, but also used them on Fork a couple of times, too. GREAT way to fish a bank or flat. Since you have a bay boat, you might need the 2 bigger ones, do not know, but I was using them on a 206 Champion and it worked great for me with the larger one in the back and the smaller one in the front. I bought mine so long ago they actually came with floats on them. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I use one from time to time on my 203 Champion. I usually hook it to the front cleat and it keeps the boat in pretty good position to drift pretty slow. Then I use the TM to adjust as needed.

I have the Minn Kota MKA-27 drift socks. I use a float on the lead and clip it to the boat with cheap aluminum carabiners so that if they snag they will break the carabiner and I can recover it with the float. I mostly use them to fish Texoma rock ledges when the wind is blowing down them.
