Thanks guys. I got her on a strike king football jig pb&j with paca chunk trailer. It was a tough day for numbers but also had two others that went 5-3 and another that went 4 even. Buddy I was with had a 3 and a 4-9. All the other fish were caught in 22ft of water on dropshot or football jig. Decided at the end of the day to go back and try my shallow fall area that ive done well in the past. We tried this area first thing in the morning without a bite. Went back there and within 10 minutes I got the 6-1 to bite and I knew the second I set the hook she was a biggun! Got her in about 7-8ft of water. So fun! Im hoping to get back up there at least one more time before it gets too cold. Water temps are already down in the low to mid 50s.

Here I was proud of myself for breaking the 4# mark when I lived in Kansas. That thing is a beast and for anyone who's never caught a smallie, pound for pound they fight twice as hard as a large mouth.
