Anyone got some advice in terms of putting together a pattern on stillhouse and some key areas?

Finished 4th in a tournament there last weekend. We caught all our fish past the bridge, in the river. Flip the trees and a throw a spinnerbait. You'll catch fish. If you decide to go fish in the clear water around the grass, throw a worm or a green pumpkin swim jig.

theres a huge grass bednear the union grove boat ramp. maybe try there.
across lake from dana peak park is a large sandflat with big cement culverts submerged, ive caught huge bass off that flat trolling crankbaits.
the bank and point directly in from of dana peak park can be good too.
near cedar gap ramp, theres a cove with a pump station on the hill, fish the deep trees at the mouth of the cove, also fish hang out on the underwater pipelines that go across the bottom. Stillhouse fish can be DEEP.
IN front of cedar gap ramp there is a deep hump, u can catch fish there
.heres a valuable tool, go to google earth, then click on historical imagery, go back to 2012 when the lake was super low. you will see which spots to fish and why.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

carolina rigging very large plastic worm across that big flat opposite dana peak park will get you some lunkers. Slow trolling back and forth horizontally with the bank, or working them from a stationary position, then letting them fall into the drop off ledge . texas boat world sells them, abt 18 inches long.
many times throwing a chrome rattletrap can get thier location pinned down quickly in that area.

I ve seen fish over there that had choked on 14 inch white bass. big fish really like that flat.
Also alot of big bass hang out at the cedar gap boat ramp. the channel runs in front of it, and ive seen many good bass caught right after boats were launched. I think it stirs up all the baitfish feeding in that lagea on the ramp, and the bass move in and whack em. ha

Is the Dana Peak boat ramp a good location to launch from?

Big grass flat out in front of the island near the dam/marina (Willow Point). Try a C-Rig, rattletrap, weightless speed worm or weightless zoom trick worm. Many big fish have been caught there. South of there and west of the rock cliffs is a big line of trees. Try flipping purple, PB&J, jigs or worms there.

try fishing the rocks at the dam for smallmouth too. Also, where the channel runs under the bridge, fish those pilings, and the channel drop off .
The dock at union grove has the lights on all night , so fish the banks around the ramp good and the ramp itself.

almost any ramps are good, but lots of riff raff hangs around cedar gap. they find abt 6 cars a year that get dumped into the lake , (burn cars).. the cockroaches steal the car, commit a crime, then go push the car in the lake.
dock rats insist on fishing off the loading dock over there and the corps doesnt enforce the laws and make them move.
Riversbend park, union grove area are good deep ramps with gaurd houses.
Dana peak is a LONG drive from the highway thru to the park and ramp.

I was able to go out on Thursday morning after I got off shift. I put in at Dana Peak Park and man what a beautiful lake! I couldn't believe how clear that lake is. I started at the cove at Dana Peak with top water and had a blast. I caught my second ever smallie and that was an exciting fight back to the boat. I pretty much fished everywhere everyone suggested and found fish, nothing huge but a ton of fun. Thank you everyone for posting up the suggestions. I'll definitely be back.

Just fished a two day event there. It was a tale of very different weather patterns.
Saturday we put in at Dana Peak and I tried top water near the hydrilla west of the ramp but I think the chop had gotten too high by then, didn't even see any blowups.
Went down to the second wooded cove from the dam and tried crank bait into the wind on a large patch of matted grass, still nothing, switched to wacky rig worm along the grass line and caught nine, with four keepers , weighed in at 6.5 lbs total. So nothing real big.
Fished all over with everything on the boat from there on out, and nada. Afternoon the chop had gotten to 21/2 to 3 foot.
Arrived at Dana Peak Sunday to a huge thunderstorm, lots of thunder lightning and rain.
After an hour and half delay we launched and since it was calm I hit the same hydrilla by the ramp. Landed 3 bass, one keeper, 2 lb range. Saw lots of blow ups.
North wind picked up and the rest of the day was goose egg for me.
Despite the wind and rain, there was 8-10 foot deep visibility everyplace we went.
Only my third time on that lake, and one was a night tournament, so anxious to go back to it.
