This old greenhorn needs some help. I admit, I was fishing for crappie. But after only 30 minutes of fishing I hooked up with a big fish. After 2 long runs I was able to get the fish in the boat. We landed the biggest bass of my career. The fish measured 25 inches long. We had no way to weigh the fish, so it was released without knowing that bit of information. That is were I need y'alls help.

Does anyone have a idea how much this Fork bass might have weighed?

I'd bet that when she fills out in the spring, she'll push 7.5 but right now, 6-6.5.

Nice fish! thumb

The skinniest 24 fish i ever weighed was over 6.5lbs, If this one is 25 its gotta be close to 7. Either way nice fish

That fish needs to eat more and stop working out so much.

Pull up the TPWD estimate chart and trust in paper, even if it reports high! Had that situation this spring, in a paper tournament an "over" was caught by someone in our club that on paper should've gone 9 lbs. weighed her in for "big Bass of the year", 7 (ish). It goes both ways, though... I've had a slot that was a fat slob, didn't get credit for it on paper, but that's all that counts when we use the paper chart.

25 inches even if 'skinny' is going to be in the 7 lb range.

You did excellent out of a Tin Boat and trolling motor. She hook up to a Minnow or Crappie Jig? Thanks for sharing a beautiful fish.
