I believe the free license is for disabled veterans. I had to pay $32.00 for the super combo. That's not that much money but I know for a fact in Mississippi and Tennessee, anyone over 65 gets their hunting and fishing licenses free. I am guessing Oklahoma and Louisiana are the same since we must have a reciprocal agreement with them.

WHAT? How? I'm a 66yo USN vet with an Honorable Discharge and had to pay last year, but did get a discount.

When I moved back to Oklahoma, three years ago, I got my lifetime, hunting and fishing license for $25.
I'm also a vet, not disabled and don't believe it matters. I was 71 yo at the time. Since then, if you supply your DD 214 to the drivers license agent, you get a new drivers license that has a USA flag up in the left hand corner. A lot of businesses in OK, know the flag is proof you are a vet and offer a discount on most all purchases.
just sayin.......
