I’m considering buying a new motor to put on a small boat, 90 or 115,. When I read the reviews on the new motors it seems like all the new motors have some kind of issue, Doesn’t seem to matter what brand it appears we over engineered our motors .Any suggestions on what you would buy. Thanks

What does the Coast Guard capacity sticker on your boat say?

The capacity plate or decal will tell you what you can legally put on it. I seriously doubt a 17' boat would be rated for a 115HP motor.

Use the maximum rated horsepower recommended by the boats manufacturer.

You can thank the EPA for causing outboard engine manufacturers to "over engineer" their products. If those libtards had there way, we'd be paddling our boats.

WHAT boat?
Your motor choice is best determined by what you'll be using it on and where.

the Yamaha 4 strokes are very well made. Nothing is bulletproof, but these are close.

16 ft aluminum express bass boat , It should fly with a 70 hp, I had a 40 hp on a 16 foot and it was plenty fast.
Tomorrow’s the big day I’m going to look at it, I’ll let you know if I buy, thank y’all so much for your knowledge, and expertise .
