While I fished five trips on RC this past week, four were for Crappie with a little bit of White Bassin' on most trips. However, Saturday we had three boats out with a Church Group from Covington, Texas that consisted mainly of Kiddos and Dads. For this Group we focused on the White Bass and got lucky as the Hybrids also came out to play. It was a fast start as the first hour saw Schooling Fish off the 309 Flats, then a real slow period of a few fish here and there for about three hours and then a non-stop finish around Noon. We caught an estimated 60 Hybrids but only 13 were Keepers, and cleaned well over 125 Whites and a nice Blue Cat! Great October Day and it should get better with this weeks' Cool Front! During the week I found a few fish off Pelican Island, Longarm Branch and the Main Lake, but the Flats was best by far. All fish on RSR Slabs and the color didn't seem to matter. Oh yea...the Crappie Fishing is as good as it gets!
