I have a Helix 1 right now. I purchased a 360 and an ulterra and waiting to get the mount (using a Cumberland Crappie mount). I wanted something a little bigger and brighter up front so I picked up a Helix 10 DI.

So here are my questions.
Am I correct that I can use the US2 and connect to the DI unit for sonar only? If so what setting do I use in the Humminbird to not damage the unit from no DI signal.

I have the transducer with a shield n saver for the DI but because of no slot to run the cable as well as the 360 down there, I'd rather not run the transducer on the trolling motor because I fear the cable would get entangled with the 360 and just cause headaches and I just haven't found a good way to mount it where it is safe.

Di units are not compatible with the us2 transducer

OK, I have read both that it would and it wouldn't but in the MK compatibility list DI are shown to not be. A little more reading seems to be the US2 reads 83/200 and the DI reads different frequencies so I assume this is the reason.

Let me ask about this set up then. Could I leave my SI transducer on the transom, and mount the DI transducer on the other side of the transom. Mount the DI unit at the console and move the SI unit to the bow and use the US2 on it. Then I'd have a view of what is below the bow on the SI unit, choose it to read the SI from the transducer on the transom.

Put the DI unit at the console and have it read the DI and sonar from it's transducer and then have it use a SI screen reading it from the SI unit?
Would the two transducers cause interference with each other?

I know this sounds like a roundabout way to get to where I want to be and I would be better off with just a Sonar unit on the bow but I got a deal on a DI that I couldn't get with a sonar unit and already have it so that's not really an option right now. If this isn't an option then I'll mount the DI on the trolling motor and use one of the mounting methods that I have found for the ulterra to run the cable and make that work but that's a last resort at the moment.
