Occasionally my front unit will show incorrect depth and water temperature but then eventually when I'm not really paying attention it will show correct temperature and depth. I have been on other people's boats where the same thing happens on there front unit, I've never really asked what the deal was or why they though it did that. Anyone have any idea what the deal is with this happening?

The temp can be explained by it setting out of the water in the sun and takes some time to cool properly and get the right temp plus, depending ont he trolling motor, that might heat up and cause an error. The only time I really notice the depth wrong is when the front gets really shallow, it will start reading crazy depths but when it is back in a couple feet of water it will correct. I also get double readings depending on the bottom when I am shallow so it will show 2 bottoms ont he screen and the depth shown is double the correct depth. You might even be getting some interference from the trolling motor itself.
