I went out Saturday and started at Lavonia ramp at 2PM. I had a buddy meet me out there with his kiddo and we did pretty well. Lots of little ones but ended up cleaning 15. Plenty of fish for us to eat. The thump was strong but couldn't hook up and I figured out that you couldn't set the hook. If you did, the fish would not be there. You had to just lift the pole up (like a drop shot) and you would land the fish. It was weird, but worked. We fished a few trees, an old boat ramp and an old road bed.
We camped at Lavonia and went out the next morning and didn't do very good. We caught 4 keepers and dozens of short fish. I ended up giving the 4 away at the ramp when we left @ 1:30. One thing that I noticed is the wind switched directions several times. It started out ENE, then switched to N, then to WSW, and then to a light S wind.
Reshelman, I kept an eye out for you, but didn't see ya.
