Are there any recommendations for a marine mechanic at Eagle Mountain Lake? I have a leaking rudder seal that has been leaking for sometime and is very calcified and frozen together. I have attempted to adjust it to stop the leak but the jam nut is frozen and I do not want to put too much force on it and possibly break the fitting with the boat in the water.
The boat is a 28 foot Trojan and I do not have a trailer for it yet, or I would attempt to remove and replace it out of the water. I plan to haul it out next spring and move the boat to another lake, at that time I plan to replace all thru hull fittings and take care of anything below the waterline, but this is leaking faster than I am comfortable with so I don't want to wait.
