I'm looking at a couple with the 8.1 ratio, good reels or no?

I have the new Curado K XG in the 8.5:1 gear ratio. The reel is very smooth and casts great. Its a great improvement over the Curado I.Time will tell, but so far I like the new Curado K better than any Curado before! thumb

Have fished the K for a couple of trips now, nice reel and maybe more reliable than the I but no contest with the 200E7 (best reel at the price point ever). Why they went through the I and K I don't know.

^^^^ I'm with you Chet, need to remake the 200e7 that is by far the best reel I have owned.

Just got a Curado K XG 8.5 about a month ago.
I love it and I'm planning on getting more.

I've got bantam series all the way up to the K (with the exception of G series) and the K series XG is one bad dude.
cheers

I am still fishing my Curado B series and have some of the others ones, but can't seem to find one more durable than the B series. Basically indestructible, for the most part, but will get some K series to compare it too, after 17 years, you would HOPE that they learned something in making all those other reels.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
