I know there's a ton of folks here that might have some insight so I'm starting here. If you were able to plan a week long vacation in northern Arkansas to fish and see some sights.. what lake would you choose and why? Beaver, bull shoals or table rock? July 4th weekend

If seeing some sights is important, I would recommend going to Table Rock, then head north to Springfield to see BPS World HeadQuarters, NRA Museum in BPS, Wonders of Wildlife, and Lews HQ and Sportsmans. You would also be close to Branson, with plenty of other family options. Table Rock has great largemouth, smallmouth and Kentucky fishing. In July, the fish will be DEEP.

Beaver is best known for Striper fishing but also has good bass fishing.

I would also spend a couple of days on Bull Shoals, excellent bass fishing lake.

Thanks Hook! That's the advice I was looking for! We certainly can't base the entire trip around 12 hr days on the water! And shoals is likely in the plan no matter what.

I use to go to white buffalo resort with my grandparents growing up, the resort is on the white river, I plan on dragging the boat up there next spring. It's only 30 to 40 minutes from bull sholes and Norfolk, and if you just want to relax and not drag the boat any where you can always fish the river, I've caught a lot of rainbows and a few smallies from the bank.

Table Rock in the spring, around Memorial Day. You can catch 100 kentuckies a day easily up in the river. It's a blast. Used to do it every year when living in Tulsa.

I would not choose a lake. I would take the White River and Norfork River for trout and the Buffalo River and Crooked Creek for smallmouth bass.

Table Rock area is really nice. Big Cedar has excellent options.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

For me JCG57 hit the nail on the head with trout at Norfork. Went Memorial and Labor Day weekends for years with a group of good friends. Only rented a boat and went out on the lake once but it was awesome. I do want to hit Table Rock and do the tour Dr. Hook suggested too someday.
