A boat for 2-3 days? #12431718 09/18/17 08:06 PM

I'm trying to get my dad and his avid crappie-fisherman friend (lives on Lake of the Ozarks, in Missouri) to come down this fall and catch some Texas-sized crappie. The problem is that my 18-foot aluminum G3 just isn't big enough. My dad's friend switched to a pontoon boat awhile back, and is understandably reluctant to pull it all the way here.

I've looked into boat rentals here on the lake, to no avail. You can rent pontoon boats, but they do not have trolling motors.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hire a guide and let them use their boat as well as put you on some fish.

A guide is probably the best direction to go in that circumstance.

what lake are yall looking to fish?

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I live on Cedar Creek.
We're hoping to fish hard 2-3 days, so a guide is out, but thanks, guys.

18fter is too small? I fish 3 out of my 17 ft Triton frequently, and I'm talkin' 3 BIG boys. Just watch where your slinging the fish. My Dad will sit in the middle the whole time and outfish myself and my father in law. He's more comfortable too! I'd say have whoever is in the middle should be net man, and don't hoist any fish over into the boat, and you should be fine.

I'd book CHRIS WEBB at Cedar Creek for 3 Full Days.

Or Book CHRIS WEBB one day.

LANE PALMER the next.

And then for a change of scenery call JERRY HANCOCK or MARK STANDRIDGE of 3NAILS GUIDE and hit Fork for a day.

I'm pretty sure they all offer FULL DAY TRIPS. thumb

A day fishing with any of those guys would probably be less than renting a boat all day.

This. And, you would probably only have to book them for 1/2 day and have the afternoon to do whatever you want.

Yeah, but ya hire 3 guides for 3 days, and you're talking some major dinero. Some folks just can't afford that.

I have nothing for ya on the boat rental suggestion, but enjoy y'alls time together.

I have an extra 18ft center console I would be happy to rent out, but after reading your post again I realized it won't help. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you, as I'm sure we can find you something.
