The Central Texas High School Tournament Trail launch its 2017-2018 season opener in a big way. On 17 September 2017, a record 53 boats take to the water, in a quest to hopefully find and return to the scales with a 5-fish limit. Middle School and High School students from New-Braunsfels to Waxacachie and everywhere in between, converge on Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir. When the scales closed 104 fish had been caught totaling 206.22lbs. Once the weights were tallied the Team of Landen Bennett and Ty Eaton fishing for Team Tightlines finished 1st with a 5 fish limit totaling 11.93lbs. Landen Bennett anchored their efforts with a nice 5.05lbs Largemouth earning him Big Bass honors and a McCain Custom Rod for the tournament. Finishing 2nd was the Team of Gage White and Rayhan Shah, fishing for Cen-Tex Bass Hunters with a 5 fish limit totaling 10.38lbs. Coming in 3rd was the Team of Wyatt Jacobs and Rylan Reagan, Fishing for the Brownwood Lions, with a 5 fish limit totaling 10.24lbs. Taking 4th was the Team of Joseph Mesecke and Dylan Carpenter fishing for Cen-Tex Bass Hunters, with a 3 fish limit totaling 9.65lbs. Taking 5th was the Team of Grady Walters and Chandler Banks, fishing for Guardian Bass Club with a 5 fish limit totaling 9.64lbs. Rounding out the top 6 teams, was the Team of Cole Laxson and Keller Munro fishing for All Around Anglers Bass Club, with a 4 fish limit totaling 8.18lbs. Congratulations to all the anglers and thank you so much to all our Boat Captains. CTHSTT will be traveling to Lake Waco for our 2nd Qualifying event of the season. We would like to thank the following supporters of CTHSTT, Texas Boat World, “a great deal on a Triton, Skeeter or Ranger Boat”, McCain Custom Rods, “because your time on the water is valuable”, Skeeter Boats, “Eat, Sleep, Fish” and Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, “because what you fish matters”.
