Our bass club championship tournament is Nov 10-12 at Rayburn, on my wife and I's one year anniversary.. I've managed to make this okay by taking her down there to camp all weekend.

We are launching from Cassels Boykin, where are good tent camping spots near there? Is there anything fun to do near the lake for her or us when I'm not fishing? Any info about the area is appreciated!

You are going to a beautiful place. I think you can camp at castle Boykin. As far as the wife having fun good luck with that unless she likes to look at wildlife or run long distances.

So you've convinced your new bride to camp at Cassels Boykins during your anniversary and your curious if there is anything fun to do around Cassels Boykins? There is Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, wild life viewing, driving somewhere else for couples day. Please share with me your secret how she agreed to your anniversary plans

Rayburn isn't really a destination vacation spot unless you're ok with camping and fishing. It's not like some lakes with shopping near by. Lufkin is closest option for that.

If you are launching at Cassel then get a camping spot there. Probably one of the better campgrounds around the lake anyways.

Camp at cassels Boykins, it's a pretty nice park. There's not anything to do besides go fishing or hunting though unless you go towards Lufkin.

Let your wife know that lufkin has a Kmart, she might like that, my mom and wife both do. Does cassels Boykin have tent campsites where you can beach boat overnight,I'm curious bout this park, never been there

Don't know the girl, but maybe spring for a room at Lakeview Hotel would go over better than a tent. It is your anniversary after all.

Really the most interesting local city is probably Nacodgoches, it's the oldest town in Texas, has some history attached to it. It's roughly 40 minutes from Castle Boykins / Lakeview the back way. Probably the best restaurants are there - although I really don't have recommendations. The Fredonia Hotel has a good restaurant attached.

To tell you about entertainment. Lakeview is one of the largest sellers of Beer in the county. I believe they have caught back up with stock after the recent hurricane. Hahaha
