First trip with the new Terrova 80 with Ipilot. Not sure how I fished without one in the past. The spotlock is a game changer. Was able to fish more locations for longer periods of time because of that function alone. Granted....it didn't catch us more fish but is sure made not getting bites a heck of alot easier. I for one will never look back at "normal" trolling motors. The remote GPS series are definitely IMHO the way to go. Although they are expensive, I feel it is money well spent.

Definitely. I've had mine out 3 times and it's phenomenal. Takes a little getting used to but pointing in a direction and saying go ... without the sway of the cable drive... love it.

Yeah...used the heading option a few times while fishing grass lines. Really cool. Love how the motor knows to never twist the cable up too. While on spot lock it will actually turn itself until the cable is straight along the shaft. Love it!

YES they are expensive but well worth the price IMO. I feel I did better with this than I idid with that hight dollar Lowrence unit I brought. I don't mind fishing on windy days anymore. I use the spot lock when I need to retie, or dig in my tackle box for some different baits. I also like the way I can change speed with the remote. If your looking to upgrade to one I say go for it.
