Have had them for 15 years and they have been good, but they are beginning to show wear in high traffic areas. Suggestions?

Following - our front patio (not a big priority) is stained and what's not covered is looking rough from the weather, and someday I'd like to do it all agin.
My contractor buddy says if you're building a house and want stained floors, to pour the slab as you would and then to dump powdered bags of color into the mixer so you can do the top inch or so colored through. That's how his place is and it's awesome, you can see it on the exterior, makes it if you ever drop something it's not going to chip it to bare concrete.

Have you ever waxed it? We have them and they are about 10 years old. Ours are actually an overlay they put down after removing the tile. They poured the overlay then came back and stained it, waited 24 hours then sealed it.
I wax them at least once a year to keep the sealer shining and the stain color still looks good. This is in our main entrance and kitchen so it is also high traffic.
