We moved a month ago, so that ate up a bunch of time. I also have been crazy busy at work. After the MS150, I was a little burnt out...

Moving sucks. Did you pick a place to live that would allow you to ride from the house? My next house...that is a MUST for me!! Next time you burn out, sign up for the next race. Keep you going! Don't burn out....pace yourself. You need a lifetime of riding...

We have good bike routes and trails close by. I just need to get the bike cleaned up and ride some.
I was putting in some long training rides before the MS150. Like 50, 60, 70 miles at once. Not group rides, so it was a little boring...

I can add you to the group ride FB pages if you need to know about the rides. My buddy that lives down there added me.

Man oh man, what a change. Rode my late 80's, early 90's Bridgestone about 77 miles this weekend. Most I've ridden it since I got my newer bike, thing is fast, but dang it takes some work. Don't know how I did it before, it also now has a colossal big ring on the front, didn't back then, so Im hoping that's part of it. I'm stuck on the couch now.

So a bike quality does make a difference? LOL!

On this bike, for me, it's probably more of a bad fit thing than anything. My Felt is a 58, with double wrapped bars, real thick, and makes for a comfy grip. I don't know what size this one is, probably a 54 or smaller, and it's got some real narrow/small dia. bars so you're cramped up pretty good. Then throw on a 56 tooth I believe chain ring and some platform pedals and it makes for a work out if you want to hold it over 20 for 15 or more miles. I was working it pretty hard, and I'm pretty sure it was the bottom bracket that was making all kinds of noise about 25 miles into it, so I don't know how much resistance that was causing, but my legs were shaking and felt like jello when I got off it. I'm going to attribute alot of it to that chainring being so big. I rode with some cat 4/5 ranked racers and the very first comment one of them made was, "geeze, got a big enough chainring on that thing?" Looking back, I probably should've just shifted it down into the smaller ring and grinded away. Oh well.
Just thinking about the pedals, and not being clipped in. As awesome as these pedals are with big lugs that grip your shoes, the last 10 miles I couldn't keep my feet on them, like they were butter. Never realized that before with clip-ins.

I gotta get a bike. Got a road bie but I just can not do the road with my neck fusion...it tightens up big time. Tried many times on my trainer and it isn't working.
Got Rowlett Creek right down the road and its time to get back on two wheels. Gonna have to go see Joe at Richardson Bike Mart and get me a Mountain Bike. Will be nice to have that in Colorado too which is now in my future for the summers!
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

If you can't handle a trainer do you think a rocky mountain trail will be better?
MTB uses a lot more of your body compared to road bikes.
I will say this....I can't get comfy on the trainer either(tried adjustments and such to make it more comfy)....but on the road I fit and feel much more comfy on the road bike. I never hurt....I have even gone out with a neck ache and thought I'm asking for it. Got done and felt better.
