It is a good little lake. The area is really nice. The fish are there but no one ever gets a limit. Crappie are there but hard to find, they are so spread out. Bass are pretty good. Catfish is good. Strippers are there too. The lake is still recovering from the drought should be good again in another year. Worth making the trip, only if you want to see a different part of the country. For fishing you have better lakes in FTW/Dallas.

Great catfish lake I know that. I bass fished here for the first time in my life this 4th of july. I grew up there(I'm 34 now) and went back to see our old place. We had a blast, stayed almost a week at the marina and camp grounds there and I would definitely recommend staying there at the marina if anyone is considering it. Since I am new to bass fishing, of course I took my boat and gave it my best shot. I graphed a lot. I wanted to test myself with absolutely no info and never fished there. I caught like 5-6 bass the two mornings I had the energy for just a couple hours. I found that the channel runs close to that island and I figured Id find fish around that area and I did catch 2 there. None of the fish I caught were over 1.5 lbs and was hard to find and catch em but I'm used to that. smile Its an absolutely beautiful little lake. I cannot wait till I get another shot at the bass there. I impressed myself and learned several things so I was absolutely happy about that.

The lake has low boat traffic
Its absolutely worth the trip.
I wouldn't count on catching a giant bass, or a lot, but your chances are very good for a BIG Catfish
