This might not be a north Texas issue, but the South Texas folks might have some ideas.
I have moss...not mildew, moss, growing on the carpeting on my bass boat. Any ideas of a product that will kill that stuff. My sister suggest vinegar. Vinegar is an acid and will enhance rusting, so I'm not sure about that.

1/3 bleach mixed w/ 2/3 water sprayed on... wait a little while and rinse with clean water should do it.
Note: check for color fastness first!

Lots of guys use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water to clean their carpet. Soak the carpet, spray on the mixture and use a tire brush to work the area really good. Use a shop vac to vacuum that out and resoak the area another time or 2 until it's clean water coming out. Personally, I use a carpet cleaner mix instead of vinegar
