Beg to differ. There ain't a stock ecoboost on the planet that can keep up with a 5.7 Tundra. Ain't gonna happen ever.

My brother has a new Eco Boost, we happened to get up front side by side at a light on the way home from work a few months ago on Davis and had us a little drag race. The Eco Boost hung in there pretty good, I took him with my 5.7L but not by as much as I thought I would.

Run the race with boats on the back and that 5.7 would leave the whining ecoboost in the dust. grin

To me a truck is for towing stuff. I care how it tows. Gas mileage is somewhere down below what rims it has. Give me a straight V8 and a solid drive train and I'm in. I'd do diesel but I'm not a hardcore hauler. Aluminum bodies and turbocharged minitruck engines tweaked out to the edge of capability are just not enticing to me. If I want better gas mileage I'll buy a car.

The eco has more torque. Just saying.

I think my next one will have the 6.2. I've got 125k on my 09 crew cab and it's been a fantastic truck. Other than oil changes, tires and preventative maintenance it's never been in the shop.
The 6.2 is an awesome motor, but the problem is that they only offer it as an option in their top-end trucks that cost as much as a 3/4 ton. That takes it out of the running for me.

Toyota is a man's truck, that's funny right there. There's a reason Ford and GM are number one and two in truck sales, they make good trucks. However if you want to buy the fifth selling truck out there then get you one of them ugly gas burning P.O.S. trucks. A man's truck. L.o.L.

Toyota half ton is the best on the planet. Everything else sucks.

They have tweeted the 3.5 eco in the Raptor. Just more stuff to blowup sooner.

Reading this thread confirms my theory that religion and politics are way less controversial and heated discussion topics than trucks and college football among men in texas.
