Those sound like MSRP's which are worth nothing. Go work prices with both and compare, ive been really impressed with the late model fords I have driven. But there is something to be said about simplicity and I feel like the tundra with have much more simple mechanics, no turbos, no auto start stop, and all the other garbage that will break.

I've got a 2010 F150 4wd with the Laramie package at 100,000 miles. Have had zero problems with it. I am looking to replace it and like the idea of driving different trucks to see the difference. The problem with that is it is such a beating to even walk on a dealership lot. Will probably only take the beating once and get another Ford.

My thinking is if I am going to spend 40k on a vehicle I need to like the looks interior,exterior the ride and capability etc...I would not spend that kind of money to get a few extra mpg and hate the vehicle..

Looked at both seriously in 2014. Real world prices are similar when the trim levels are apples to apples. I found that the Ford had more features/options available and better mileage with the Eco Boost. The Tundra would have better resale and just felt a little more barebones/no frills, but not in a bad way. Ford (EcoBoost) wins the mileage big time.

Both are great trucks. You will find happy and unhappy owners on both sides as well as die hard fan boys for either. I didn't consider the Chevy because I just didn't care for the styling.

I didn't read the whole thread, just your first post. I went from a Ford to Toyota a couple of years ago, nothing at all to worry about. I have the 5.7L V-8, it gets about 17 MPG, but I didn't buy a new vehicle for fuel mileage...this sucker can flat out tow. Not only does it pull insanely good but it can also stop while towing. Doesn't do any good to be able to pull it if you cant stop it. Inside of the Tundra is as roomy if not more than the Ford and the new models have the awesome back glass that rolls down. No complaints with mine going on year 3 with it, I guess the only thing to worry about is getting whiplash from pushing the gas pedal to fast with that 5.7L engine. They will get up and go!

If I ever replaced my 2014 Ford F-150 the only other truck I'd have is the RAPTER! Enough said bout that .

I'm actually very surprised to see the Tundra in a similar trim package is even close in price. Typically yota is more expensive.

Not a fan of Toyota. The Ford ecoboost will run circles around a tundra. I've only driven a tundra twice and have no desire to drive one again, felt heavy and didn't tow as well as a comparable f-150 with an ecoboost.

I'm with you on the auto start/stop. Stupid feature imo that has been causing some issues. The turbo on the other hand...it sure is nice at elevation and in the hills and when towing.
