The Tundras run significantly less than Fords. My 2015 5.7 1794 edition stickered at 45,200. I can't remember what the King Ranch Ford was running back then but if memory serves me right it was pushing 55-56 after rebates.

Seriously do a KBB value search on your current truck and then do the exact same search on a Tundra. You'll make your mind up quickly, as long as you don't think the Tundra is butt ugly.

I went thru the same things with numbers in 2013 when I was considering a Ford with eco boost...Toyota with similar equipment was cheaper

And Tundras hold their value better IMO.

Since I have a quarter million on my 07 tundra, (Everything is still original other than the battery, the starter..... 2 brake jobs and 4 sets of tires) I think I am more than qualified to say the tundra is a no brainer. No more Fords for me. I have driven them all and I can honestly say nothing even comes close to the quality you get in a tundra. And besides, the tundra is made right here in Texas.

If the Ford is $8k more, you're either looking only at MSRP instead of actual sale price or you're not looking at equivalently equipped trucks. Actual sale price of a Ford & Toyota equipped the same - the Toyota should always be higher.

Ford makes a nice truck. Neither the Ford or the Toyota will likely be very fuel efficient. Depending on what motor you get, the Ford will be either the same or a little better. Toyotas all drink the gas, which wouldn't be much fun if gas goes back to $4 or more a gallon.

Pretty much sums up my experience as well.

Tranny acting weird right now but it has 276,000 HARD miles on it. Think mine was made in Tennessee.

+1. Not unusual for Ford to have a $10k plus discount off MSRP.

And for those that say "i've got ___,000k on my truck, and it's just like it was new"

That's bull-hit. Don't believe them.

Salesman here at work bought a new 2016 Tundra 1794 edition, has been in and out of shop constantly, but I've never heard anyone else having his kinds of problems.
