With the recent stretch of cool weather we've had do yall think the wish will be moving more shallow? My guess would be yes but with it getting back up into the mid 90's later this week and weekend and Im afraid they'll go back deep. Just curious what yall thought

Some are already shallow, some will move shallow. Some are still out deep and won't ever come shallow. They're very spread out. That is why this is one of the toughest times of the year to catch fish.

From my tournament this past weekend they moved shallow. Everybody caught their fish in 5ft or less all day. The water had dropped about 8 degrees within the 2 weeks of cooler weather at Winnsboro. There is always deep fish and always shallow fish no matter what time of year. The heat will warm back up a little bit but as long as its not long term and more cold fronts start coming in, the shallow bite should stay strong and get better.

Just wondering why you find this the hardest time of year , I've always found it to be the easiest time of year to catch fish
Do you primarily fish shallow

Some of the metromess lakes are already turning over... I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes.

Caught smaller bass dirt shallow this weekend in spawning areas (less than two feet of water), way back of coves with rock/gravel. They were aggressive with reaction strikes on buzz baits, behaving almost like buck bass during the spawn.

Caught a bigger bass in mid depth timber pitching a jig, but had trouble catching anything of really good size.

Water levels are dropping (we haven't had a good rain in 20 days) and it's warming up again starting Thursday with no precipitation in the forecast.

What do you mean by turning over?

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Cool rain usually expidites this process but with the consecutive cooler evenings and mornings subsequently cooling the lake waters higher in the column it is causing the shallower water to become more dense than the deeper water so they essentially flip positions or "turn over". Happens around the summer-fall transition every year.

I've seen it both ways. Sometimes they spread out all thru the water column and you just have to pick around to catch them and sometimes there will be a ton up shallow. Find the shad. Even if they're 30ft deep there will be fish there

NOW this makes sense to me. I was fishing Belton Sunday, and Belton has some pretty deep coves.
I was trying a few different things without much success, so I switched to a shaky head and a PB&J worm.
Started getting some bites in 30 feet of water up in a cove. Ended up catching three dinks, a 2.5 and a 3.5 pounders.
But was a little puzzled as to why they were so deep, then I remember seeing balls of baitfish on the graph, and they were around 15 feet deep.
