Well, I just got back.... Kudos to team number 77 with a solid win! I would sure love to know what type of area they were fishing in... My team moved around to a lot of different areas and we did not do well anywhere. I dont think I have ever fished so much and caught so little.

I didn't go much further south than Costello so perhaps that was my problem. I fished shallow, deep, in the channels and up in the creek inlets. I managed a 5 lb blue up in one of the channels on Day 1 but that was as good as it got for me. The rest were dinky channel cats.

This morning looked promising. We found some tightly schooled shad with definitive arcs below them in about 17 feet of water. We netted some of the shad and cut them up, really thinking we were onto some fish but we got nothing. Tried for about an hour with no bites before giving up and moving. In hindsight that was a mistake and we should have stuck it out at that location.

It was a fun yet humbling contest. I will definitely be there next year hopefully more schooled on where to find the blues in PK!

I took a butt whooping in the tourney ( 1- 3lb Blue) and also in the Wind n Waves - I was by myself and pulling anchors in the High Seas in 40' whooped me physically ( Backs Hurting and Hands are swollen) and I lost one box anchor........

We placed third, and this was one VERY TOUGH lake! Our game plan all along was to pull boards but my lanta there is a lot of structure in that lake! Saturday we pulled until 11 with not much to show and made a long run to 2' and never looked back. We didn't weigh in a single blue, all channels crazy

We placed 25th overall. The lake was very tough for us. We fished all day in and around the river and only managed 1 blue that weighed 3.46lbs. We were pretty discouraged to say the least. We fished the second day up the lake in clear water. We found 4 keepers with a hour left in the day of all channels fishing brush mixed with cattails. We weighed in 13+lbs with a total of a little over 17lbs. I was definitely a good experience and a well ran tournament.

We tried drifting a couple weeks prior and lost count of how many rigs we lost. So we knew that was a no go during tournament time.

Congrats to Andrew and Daniel for figuring out something on that lake. All I found out was where not to try and drift over and over. Lost around 20 slinky weights, 30 customs rattling corks, a ton of hooks and even a planer board. To say is was costly would be an understatement at the least. We did actually catch 3 1-2lbs blues on a single drift Saturday but could not reproduce that drift. We tossed back all our fish both days and never weighed in. Would have only had around 6-7 lbs Saturday and just a couple of lbs on Sunday. Definitely a humbling lake. Was good to be back on Lewisville yesterday and never got hung once. Was nice to meet a lot of the guys we ran into down there. Great event and good fish fry Friday night.
