Lake Houston has come back after its worst flood. Water level is near normal however the chocolate brown water will likely be around a while. That does not bother catfish and they are biting. Mariners should beware that much of the bottom of the lake has been rearranged by the flood....especially north of FM 1960. Lots of new sandbars from the west side of the lake north of 1960 all the way past the W. Lake Houston Pkwy bridge in Kingwood. Was not possible to navigate to Hwy 59 from Kingwood yesterday. Lots of new large clumps of debris in various parts of the lake, especially piled up against the 1960 and RR bridges. These should make for great crappie fishing once the water clears.

Thanks for report, planning to have a look/see later this week. KW section of San Jac looks back to normal, although our launch at River Grove likely to be closed for a while so much sand to remove out of there. I hope its a boon for the crappie. With the RR bridge construction doubt you could approach them at all until they are done. They had crews clearing debris from under 59 bridge yesterday,RR bridge is cleaned out already.

I rarely go up East Fork or Luce Bayou but I am told you can navigate those areas despite lots of hazards.
