3rd Annual Operation Comfort a Benefit Tournament

We had 96 Boats come out to compete to support our Wounded Soldiers but they gladly went home winning over $18,820 in Cash and Prizes.

We paid out $12,320 to 1st through 10th place and handed out $6500 worth of Door Prizes. These weren't cheap prizes either tons of Yeti and Grizzly Coolers , a store front worth of Duckett Fishing Reels and Rods , a handful of Oakley Sunglasses , GoPros , a bunch of Santone Lures Gift Bags , Prym1 Camo Gift Bags and Sound Logic Certificates for custom iPod molds.

Truly a tournament not only to support our Wounded Soldiers but a tournament where our Anglers win as well.

1. 19.83 lbs. Garrick McPherson and Brian Turner ( Operation Comfort Soldier )
2. 18.73 lbs. Bill Gift and Thomas Anderson
3. 18.52 lbs. Steve Wright and Mitch Friedman ( Veteran )
4. 18.08 lbs. Todd Pierce
5. 17.63 lbs. Eric Thompson and Paul Ferguson
6. 17.46 lbs. Kris Douglas
7. 17.42 lbs. Jacob Shannon and Braxton Hollengshead ( UT Tyler Bass Club Team )
8. 15.71 lbs. Marc Mitchell and Archey Hayley
9. 14.98 lbs. Daniel Martin and Reece Martin
10. 14.6 lbs. Nevelle May ( Veteran ) and Robert Anderson

Big Bass Overall - 7.74lbr Kris Douglas

Veteran Big Bass - 6.2 lbr Albert Orenelas

Heaviest finishing team with Junior Angler - 14.98 lbs. Daniel and Reece Martin

There is still so much more to post with full results and we want y'all to share your photos and stories of your day. This tournament could not be the success it is every year without such huge support from our Sponsors and our community. We are to the moon this years winner was paired with a Wounded Soldier from Operation Comfort.

This was a great event and very well organized. I would highly recommend coming out next year if you can. As mentioned previously, they had enough door prizes to make sure the majority of people won something. I dont know how the amount of door prizes compare to previous years, but if they are continuing to grow then I would think by next year you might have a chance to get 2 prizes cheers.

Great job organizing this event and great cause to be a part of. Thanks guys

Is there INTEGRITY within the sport of bass fishing?

Yes - Yes there is
During our Operation Comfort Benefit Tournament two men stood tall and became one of the lasting impressions of the tournament. They brought a sack full of Palestine studs and loaded them on the scales. As we began to smile as we watched the scale weight continue to rise and stop at 19.25lbs which was good enough for 1st place at the moment. We were treated to something so much more humbling. The gentlemen asked for the microphone to announce they were withdrawing from the tournament. They told the story of having a great day on the water but noticed towards the end that they had castes beyond their official last casting timeframe. What a punch to the stomach that would've been but yet these two gentlemen had the moral fiber to own up to their mistake and use it as a teaching moment to our entire crowd. 96 boats over 300 people packed inside Nautical Mile Marine to include 41 Veterans were treated to INTEGRITY at its finest. These two men withdrew without anyone knowing they had violated the last cast rule giving up the chance at $5,000 and Palestine bragging rights and did the right thing. The crowd was astounded and gave a standing ovation for their decision to stand tall and own up to a mistake. We were proud to have these two men on our stage and one of the lasting impressions of our tournament...

These two men were Steve Terry and Randy Parks - Both men are forever worthy of respect from our fishing community. Both men have their entry fees paid in full for the duration of this tournament lifetime by a few fishermen who were forever touched by their INTEGRITY. Kudos again to them and God Bless
