I am ready for cat fish season to kick off. I went today and caught a nice small carp in the cast net and it made good fillet bait. A few shad and I hit the cat fish shallow first and caught two fair kitty fish.
That bite died and I drifted several spots before finding a few around an old creek channel drifting in 35' FOW.
Six fish for table and some info to start with tomorrow.
Water temp was 77!

I am looking for this season to be as good as the last. It usually kicks off with big boys in late September.
