Hi everyone,
i'm thinking about installing this unit on my boat for offshore fishing. I've used this unit for the pass fews year and love it but i only used it for lake in texas never in the gulf. Does it work good in the gulf also? Or should i buy and use some other unit like Garmin etc,,,, ?

There is no gen1, it will be a gen2 or 3. Should work just fine in the gulf, why do you think it's different than a Garmin?
