Does the Dobyns Fury 705CB have enough power to fish Dd22s and 6XDs with a little power to spare? They list for $110 or a little less. Would this be a good choice in a mod to deep cranking rod? I would prefer a 765, but it's not available in the Fury series. Your input is appreciated.

I guess you could briefly, but it would wear you out if throwing all day.

I throw topwaters, traps and some small square bills on a champion 705cb glass. No way I'd throw a deep diver on it, personally.

That's what I needed to know. How about the Champion 765 CB? Glass or graphite?

That's what I needed to know. How about the Champion 765 CB? Glass or graphite? I have a 765CB Champion, graphite, and i mainly use it for mid depth / sq bills. I have thrown 6xds on it, but i still prefer to use the 805 for 6xd and above

I throw lipless and squarebills on the Fury 705 CB. 736CB up to 5xd. 6xd and up I throw on the 806CB.
I wouldn't recommend the 705 CB for anything deep. I imagine it would be ok for like a 3xd.

The 705 CB work awesome for lipless and squarebills, or even a medium diver. But if you want an awesome deep diving rod definitely go with the 806.

Well guys, thanks for keeping me from making an expensive mistake. A man never wants to be under gunned. I'll go for the 805 or 806CB.
